Was founded in 1893 and incorporated 1894. Mr. C. C. Duson who named the community after his wife, Eunice, founded the City of Eunice. Mr. Duson sold the first parcels of land in the vicinity of the old railroad depot which was the city's birthplace. Today, Eunice is known as Louisiana's “Prairie Cajun Capital.”
